Information - 10.04.2026

This release extends Event Mail Notification with new SMTP, test-mail, and event-delivery configuration options, plus update-process and documentation improvements.

New features

  • Extended SMTP password mode: The smtppassencryption setting supports both plaintext and encrypted password handling.
  • Separated test-mail control: sendtestmailemn (monthly test mail) and sendtestmailsmtp (startup SMTP test mail) can be configured independently.
  • Last-event-only mode: With lasteventonly, you can optionally send only the latest matching event per query and run.

Improvements

  • More robust configuration handling: Improved fallback behavior for legacy and extended configuration paths (logevent/logid and logevent1..3/logid1..3).
  • Stabilized update workflow: Stale-lock detection and additional safeguards in the update process.
  • Documentation consolidated: Manuals and technical documentation updated for version 1.3.2.

Technical changes

  • SMTP normalization enhanced: Improved decryption handling and error logging in the SMTP initialization path.
  • Monthly test-mail flow improved: Marker logic and template/fallback behavior refined.
  • Update filtering refined: Channel and pre-release filtering improved in the client update process.

Important notes

  • Restart the service: After the update, restart the Event Mail Notification service once.
  • Check configuration: Please verify smtppassencryption, sendtestmailemn, sendtestmailsmtp, and lasteventonly.
  • Recommended function test: After updating, run a short validation for SMTP delivery, event notifications, and update checks.

Information - 08.04.2026

This release improves overall reliability of Event Mail Notification and extends license-check and notification behavior.

New features

  • Multiple event queries: You can monitor up to three different event queries in parallel.
  • Backward compatibility: Existing configurations remain fully supported.
  • New license-expiry info mail: If a license has expired, a customer-friendly email including computer name/FQDN and renewal guidance is sent (max. once per day, only if the license had worked before).

Improvements

  • More reliable event notifications: Events inside the configured time window are considered again per run.
  • More robust license-server handling: In case of connectivity issues, license checks are now retried hourly for up to 24 hours.
  • Cleaner service stop behavior: Waiting and background tasks are now canceled more safely.

Technical changes

  • License retry behavior revised: Retry interval changed to 1 hour within a 24-hour retry window.
  • Daily limit for expiry notice: Introduced a daily marker for license-expiry notification mails.
  • Dedup behavior corrected: The temporary RecordId-based deduplication in the active mail path was rolled back.

Important notes

  • Restart the service: After the update, restart the Event Mail Notification service once.
  • Check configuration: If using multiple event queries, verify logevent1..3/logid1..3 entries.
  • Recommended function test: After updating, run a short notification and license-check validation test.

Information - 06.03.2026

This version strengthens the stability and security of mail delivery and improves the internal handling of email addresses in Event Mail Notification.

New features

  • This release does not introduce any new visible end-user features. The focus is on internal improvements in the mail subsystem.

Improvements

  • More robust sender/recipient handling: Processing of special input in email addresses has been improved to avoid unwanted effects when sending via SMTP.
  • More stable mail delivery: Internal adjustments in the mail subsystem increase reliability when delivering notifications, especially in environments with strict SMTP rules.
  • General application security: Internal mail and log processing has been consolidated with a focus on error tolerance and security.

Technical changes

  • Reworked mail components: The components responsible for constructing and sending emails have been updated and aligned with current security requirements in SMTP environments.
  • Improved input validation: The internal handling of string values used for sender and recipient information has been hardened to catch problematic input early.

Important notes

  • Restart the service: After the update, the Event Mail Notification service should be restarted once so that all changes in the mail subsystem take effect.
  • Recommended function test: After the update, you should send a test notification email to verify the correct configuration of the mail server and sender addresses.
